E-cylinder anesthesia gas chart covering full pressures, volumes, cylinder factors, color codes, and remaining-time calculations for O2, air, N2O, and nitrogen.
Review the core table first, then launch practice to convert recognition into faster recall.
| Gas | Full pressure (psi) | Volume (L) | State | Color code |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oxygen | 1900 | 660 | Compressed gas | Green |
| Air | 1900 | 625 | Compressed gas | Yellow |
| Nitrous oxide | 745 | 1590 | Liquid + vapor | Blue |
| Nitrogen | 2200 | 625 | Compressed gas | Black |
Remaining time (minutes) ≈ (psi × 0.28) ÷ flow rate (L/min)
For oxygen E-cylinders, the tank factor is about 0.28 L/psi. Nitrous oxide pressure stays near 745 psi until most liquid is gone, so pressure alone is not a reliable content gauge until late.
