Position Overview

Locum tenens general anesthesiologist position in York, Pennsylvania from January 1, 2027 to April 2, 2027 (13 weeks).

Schedule and Call

Monday through Friday daytime shifts of 8 or 10 hours (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Weekday call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Weekend call is 24 hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Approximately 20 shifts per month.

Practice Model

50% solo cases and 50% CRNA supervision, typically supervising 3-4 nurse anesthetists. No pediatric cases under age 13, no open-heart cases, and no neurosurgical cases.

Compensation

Weekly estimated pay of $13,210 to $13,920. 1099 contract position.

Requirements

MD or DO degree. Active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility. Current DEA registration. At least 1 year of anesthesiology experience. Epic EMR experience. Ability to manage solo cases at least 50% of the time and supervise CRNAs. Willingness to provide OB anesthesia coverage.

Responsibilities

Preoperative assessment through case completion. Independent case management. CRNA supervision. Accurate documentation in Epic. Collaboration with perioperative team.
