Pediatric CAA | Orlando, FL

Position Overview

Nemours Children's Health seeks full-time and part-time CAAs for its Orlando, Florida team. New graduates and adult CAAs are welcome. The role provides 100% pediatric care in a collegial environment with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other APPs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform individualized pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations
• Select and administer pre-anesthetic medications and fluids
• Apply and insert appropriate monitoring modalities
• Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia
• Respond to emergency situations with airway management and ACLS techniques
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-AA accredited Anesthesiology Assistant Program
• Current Florida Anesthesiologist Assistant license
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Schedule & Call Requirements

All shifts are in-house with no call. Equitable self-scheduling with 12-hour shifts preferred. Dedicated night and Saturday coverage. Shared Sunday day coverage is rare unless desired. Shared holiday coverage.

Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida is a teaching hospital with 4 physician residency programs and 2 SRNA programs. Opportunities exist for QI projects, committees, and teaching. An APP Council promotes collaboration.
