Position Overview

Full-time Cardiac Anesthesiologist position at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. The role includes adult cardiac cases such as cardiopulmonary bypass, mitral valves, TAVR, SAVR, and vascular procedures. All cardiopulmonary bypass cases are performed solo by the cardiac anesthesiologist.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for cardiac and vascular cases
• Perform peripheral nerve blocks with strong ultrasound regional skills
• Practice solo 60% of the time or provide medical direction 40% of the time at ideal 1:3 ratio
• Teach residents and SRNA/SAA students if desired

Qualifications

• BC/BE anesthesiologist
• ACLS and BLS required
• MD or DO with Indiana license or eligibility
• Familiarity with transesophageal echocardiography required
• New graduates and J1 visa candidates welcome

Schedule and Call

Equitable home call taken one week at a time with very rare callback or work past 3pm. Guaranteed post-call time off. No OB cases.

Compensation and Benefits

Above-average base salary with retention bonus, performance bonus, and option for additional paid shifts. Hearty sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. IU Health Arnett Hospital is a 204-bed Level 3 trauma center with 6 surgical suites offering open heart and neurosurgical capabilities. Wide variety of cases excluding major trauma and transplant. Healthy pediatric cases from 6 months and up. Patient draw base exceeds 500,000.
