Position Overview

Indiana University Health Physicians seeks a patient-centered General Anesthesiologist committed to clinical care, education, and research at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in growth of providers at the adult academic health center
• Train students, residents, and fellows with faculty appointment
• Full-time Monday-Friday 7:00 am-4:00 pm with call
• Handle inpatient and outpatient cases including ENT, GYN, ERCP, ECT, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, general, neuro, thoracic, CV, and OB
• Flexible scheduling for research, academic, and quality projects

Qualifications

• Residency training in Anesthesiology required
• Board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology required
• Indiana medical license or eligibility required

Facility Details

IU Health Methodist Hospital is a 1000-bed tertiary referral center and the largest trauma center in Indianapolis. It has over 130 ICU beds and is a subspecialized center for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, lung transplantation, and neurocritical care. The hospital is part of the IU Health Adult Academic Health Center and ranks as the top hospital in Indiana per U.S. News & World Report. A new downtown hospital campus with 864 beds is under construction and scheduled to open in late 2027.

Schedule and Call

Full-time Monday-Friday 7:00 am-4:00 pm with call included. Flexible scheduling supports faculty research and academic initiatives.
