Position Overview

Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) role at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Provides perioperative management across four main sites in a level-one academic trauma center.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative evaluation of patients. Administers anesthetics under written practice protocols with attending anesthesiologists. Maintains patient records, participates in teaching and continuing education, and provides resuscitative care.

Qualifications

Successful completion of an Anesthesiologist Assistant program certified by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants. Current certification recognized by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Medical University of South Carolina sites include Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital (pediatric level-one trauma, 8 ORs), University Hospital (21 ORs, all surgical specialties), Ashley River Towers (10 ORs, NORA practice), and Rutledge Tower Ambulatory Surgery (9 ORs).

Compensation & Benefits

Up to $50,000 sign-on bonus available for specific locations. Hourly pay grade Health-36. 40 hours per week.

Schedule & Call Requirements

Full-time employee position with rotating shifts possible. Self-scheduling options noted at some sites.
