Position Overview

Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant position at The Medical University of South Carolina Ashley River Tower in Charleston. Adult academic facility with 10 operating rooms, 7 endoscopy areas, and 6 Heart and Vascular and interventional radiology suites. Coverage includes surgical oncology, colorectal, bariatrics, plastics, and occasional vascular or thoracic cases.

Key Responsibilities

Provide perioperative management including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative evaluation. Administer anesthetics under written practice protocol with attending anesthesiologists. Operate anesthesia equipment, assist with patient transport, maintain records, participate in teaching and continuing education, and provide resuscitative care.

Qualifications

Successful completion of Anesthesiologist Assistant program certified by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants. Current certification recognized by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. Licensure or eligibility by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Practice Model

AAs practice under clinical supervision of an anesthesiologist and administrative supervision of the CRNA manager. Position eligible for location stipend. 40 hours per week, hourly pay.
