Position Overview

Fellowship-trained Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist position at Ochsner Children's Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. The role joins a team of 3 Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology faculty members providing care for the full range of congenital cardiac pathology, including heart transplantation and ventricular assist devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Cover congenital cardiac cases for bypass and cath lab procedures
• Manage pediatric heart disease for cardiac and non-cardiac procedures
• Work with CRNAs experienced in congenital cardiac cases at a typical 1:1 ratio
• Participate in tiered call system with equal division of first call

Qualifications

• BC/BE Fellowship-trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist
• Sub-fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia or equivalent experience

Facility Details

Ochsner Children's Hospital is a nationally ranked children's hospital with a 54-bed Level III-C NICU and 26-bed PICU. The program performs approximately 250 bypass cases and 500 cath lab cases annually and is the only facility in Louisiana offering pediatric heart transplantation. A new children's hospital is under construction with completion scheduled for 2027.

Schedule & Call Requirements

Tiered call system with first call divided equally. Post-call day off if stay past a specified time. Potential for academic time in schedule. Ample vacation and CME time.
