Position Overview

Section Head of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Ochsner Children's Hospital in New Orleans. Lead a team of seven pediatric anesthesiology faculty for practice at the new freestanding Ochsner Children's Hospital opening in 2028.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for pediatric anesthesiology practice spanning all subspecialties from healthy outpatients to complex neonatal surgery.
• Collaborate with surgical specialists in a patient-centered manner.
• Support academics and research in a teaching program.
• Participate in recruitment, performance assessment, compensation, feedback, and conflict resolution.
• Contribute to strategy development and system leadership within Ochsner Health.

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible in primary specialty.
• MD/DO with active clinical practice credentials.
• History of leadership experience and track record of collaboration.
• Strong interest in academics and research.

Facility Details

Ochsner Children's Hospital includes 67-bed Level IV NICU, 14-bed PICU, 12-bed CVICU, and advanced programs in congenital heart surgery, transplantation, and oncology. New 5-story children's hospital under construction with opening in late 2027/early 2028. Department of Anesthesiology has 70 anesthesiologists, 100 CRNAs, and over 45 house staff with annual case volume exceeding 80,000.
