Position Overview

Full-time Anesthesiologist role at Prisma Health in Sumter, SC. The physician provides diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease or injury and renders medical treatment consistent with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease, defects, or injuries.
• Render medical treatment without regard to ability to pay, race, creed, color, sex, religion, national origin, or age.
• Complete accurate, legible, and timely records using CPT and ICD codes.
• Provide after-hours call coverage equally with other physicians.
• Comply with standards of accepted medical practice, managed care organizations, Medicare, Medicaid, and Joint Commission.
• Maintain continuing medical education for certification and licensing.
• Participate in non-revenue generating activities advancing the vision and mission of Prisma Health.
• Participate in quality assurance, utilization management, patient education, and satisfaction programs.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Successful completion of residency.
• Board certified or board eligible.
• Medical staff privileges.
• South Carolina medical license.
• South Carolina controlled substance license.
• DEA number.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of office equipment.
