Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-operative patient exam and assessment
• Intraoperative care using MAC, regional and general anesthesia on ASA class 1-6 patients
• Post-operative care including ventilator management in recovery and ICU
• On-call and overnight coverage
• Services in OR, PACU, ICU, wards and out-of-OR settings including Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, Gastroenterology and Pain Clinic

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from accredited institution
• U.S. citizenship
• Full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology

Facility Details

Richmond VA Medical Center is a level 1a 349-bed facility offering primary, secondary and tertiary care. Strong affiliation with the Medical College of Virginia. Four community-based outpatient clinics in the region.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range $260,000-$400,000 per year. 50-55 days paid time off annually. Traditional federal pension with 5-year vesting and 401K with up to 5% VA contribution.
