Position Overview

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time clinical track Assistant or Associate Professor in dental anesthesiology to serve as program director.

Responsibilities include pre-doctoral and resident education in anesthesiology and pharmacology, participation in the intramural practice, operational oversight of the dental anesthesia program, CODA accreditation compliance, resident supervision, and engagement in college, university, and national professional service.

Qualified candidates may pursue a dual appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with practice opportunities in the hospital operating rooms.

Qualifications

Required: DDS/DMD from a CODA-accredited institution, minimum two years in a CODA-accredited dental anesthesiology residency, extensive experience providing general anesthesia and sedation for dental and maxillofacial procedures across all ages including pediatrics, board certification or active candidate status, and eligibility for Ohio dental licensure with General Anesthesia endorsement.

Desired: Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in anesthesiology-related field and track record or potential for research funding.

The position is based at Postle Hall on the Columbus campus. The College of Dentistry is connected to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and has an affiliation with Nationwide Children's Hospital, both Level I trauma centers.
