Position Overview

MercyOne Waterloo and Cedar Falls seek a General Anesthesiologist to join a collaborative team providing care at two hospitals located 15 minutes apart.

Key Responsibilities

Manage own cases with high autonomy. Case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, spine, ENT, OB, pediatrics, neurosurgery, IR, and more. No open-heart procedures.

Compensation & Benefits

$600K guaranteed salary with up to $680K income potential. $150K in bonuses. 9 weeks paid vacation annually. Extra call pay and vacation buy-back options. $15K relocation allowance. Employer-paid malpractice with tail. $6,000 CME allowance. Health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Two retirement plans with employer match. Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Schedule & Call Requirements

Predictable scheduling with 10-hour shift model. Extra call pay available.

Facility Details

MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center (366 beds) and MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center (100 beds). No surgery centers.

Practice Environment

Work alongside experienced anesthesiologists and CRNAs in a supportive, team-oriented culture. High level of independence managing own cases.
