Position Overview

MercyOne Waterloo and Cedar Falls seek a General Anesthesiologist to join a collaborative team providing care at two hospitals 15 minutes apart in northeast Iowa.

Compensation & Benefits

Guaranteed salary of $600K with income potential up to $680K. $150K in bonuses. 9 weeks paid vacation annually (approximately 12 weeks off with 10-hour shift model). Extra call pay and vacation buy-back options. $15K relocation allowance. Employer-paid malpractice with tail. $6,000 CME annually. Health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Two retirement plans with employer match. Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Schedule & Call Requirements

Predictable scheduling with extra call pay available. No open-heart procedures.

Practice Environment

High autonomy managing own cases. Diverse case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, spine, ENT, OB, pediatrics, neurosurgery, IR, bariatric, EP lab, and podiatry. Work at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center (366 beds) and MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center (100 beds). No surgery centers.

Qualifications

Board-certified or board-eligible General Anesthesiologist. Collaborative team approach with experienced anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
