Position Overview

This full-time CRNA position at WVU Medicine provides anesthetic care for all types of patients and procedures in cooperation with supervising or medically directing physicians. The role administers anesthesia to render patients insensitive to pain during surgery and procedures while providing continuous monitoring of patient responses.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety at all times and excellence in airway management
• Participate in pre-anesthetic evaluation and selection of anesthetic agents
• Perform techniques including IV catheter insertion, invasive monitoring, endotracheal intubation, and arterial punctures
• Monitor patient response to anesthesia and manage induction, maintenance, and emergence
• Administer IV fluids and blood products as needed
• Document patient status and perform safety checks on equipment
• Participate in surgical pause and communicate with the perioperative team
• Provide care in life-threatening emergencies and assist with teaching new CRNAs and students
• Maintain accountability for controlled substances

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in West Virginia or applicable state
• Board certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Day shift. May be required to be on call or work nights, weekends, and holidays.
