Outpatient CRNA at UPMC Shadyside | Pittsburgh, PA

Position Overview

University of Pittsburgh Physicians, Anesthesiology Department, Ambulatory Surgery Center at UPMC Shadyside is hiring a full-time CRNA. This is a fast-paced surgery center setting seeking team players who are flexible, dependable and enjoy working in an outpatient environment. Sign-on bonus eligible.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides anesthetic care for all types of patients in cooperation with the supervising or medically directing physician.
• Performs pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation, anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence, post-anesthesia care, and peri-anesthesia clinical support functions.
• Reviews documentation for informed consent and identifies appropriate surgical site.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement process.
• Assumes responsibility for controlled substances according to department and hospital policy.
• Assists with teaching and evaluation of newly-hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program required. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. Board Certified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Act 33, 34, and 73 clearances required. Master's degree preferred.
