Position Overview

Full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist position at University of Pittsburgh Physicians, Anesthesiology Department, UPMC East in Monroeville, PA.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and related care including pre-anesthetic preparation, induction, maintenance, emergence, post-anesthesia care, and peri-anesthesia support.
• Assume responsibility for controlled substances according to department and hospital policy and state and federal guidelines.
• Assist with teaching and evaluation of newly hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs.
• Participate in the Quality Improvement process through documentation, incident reporting, evaluation, education, and implementation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Board Certified, Recertified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• CPR, AHA-approved ACLS/PALS certifications as required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal.

UPMC East is a new hospital with a surgical suite equipped with advanced technology. Procedures span Endocrine, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, Podiatry, Spine, Thoracic, Urology, and Vascular.
