Position Overview

Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist position at UPMC Altoona providing anesthesia care with fellowship training in cardiac anesthesiology required.

Schedule and Call

Daylight coverage Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Beeper call 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM all days.

Practice Model

CRNA supervision with 2.75:1 concurrency target. 13 anesthesiologists and 31 CRNAs on staff. Academic appointment available.

Compensation

$562k total compensation plus $30k signing bonus. Compensation increases after 2 and 5 years of service to $602k annually after 5 years. CME allowance of $4,110. 10 weeks PTO. Relocation expense reimbursement. Defined contribution plan with 403b employer match. Occurrence-based malpractice insurance. Health, life, and disability insurance.

Requirements

Board-certified or board-eligible in anesthesiology. Fellowship-trained in cardiac anesthesiology. Unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania. J-1 waivers accepted.

UPMC Altoona is a Level 2 trauma center, regional cardiology and cardiac surgery center, and JCAHO-accredited stroke center serving a six-county primary area with 350,000-400,000 population.
