Locum Anesthesiologist | Somerset, PA

Position Overview

13-week locum tenens Anesthesiologist opportunity in Somerset, Pennsylvania starting December 28, 2026. The role involves general and regional anesthesia for pediatric, adult, and orthopedic cases in a community hospital setting.

Schedule and Call

Daytime coverage Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. Weeknight call Monday through Friday 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. 24-hour weekend call Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Approximately 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Provide general and regional anesthesia. Evaluate patients preoperatively and develop anesthesia plans. Monitor patients perioperatively and manage post-anesthesia recovery. Deliver weeknight and 24-hour weekend call coverage. Collaborate with surgical teams and nursing staff.

Requirements

MD or DO degree. Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology. At least 1 year of anesthesiology experience. Comfort with pediatric anesthesia and proficiency in regional anesthesia. Experience with general anesthesia and orthopedic procedures. Pennsylvania medical licensure eligibility. Willingness to provide call coverage.

Compensation

1099 contract with weekly estimated pay of $10,700 to $11,280. No employee benefits included.
