Position Overview

Vice Chair of Research position within Beverly Anesthesiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Reports to Co-Chairs of the Department of Anesthesiology. Combines clinical anesthesia care with leadership of the department research mission.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic research plan. Expand extramural funding, clinical trials, and publications. Oversee research compliance and administration. Recruit and mentor physician-scientists. Integrate research into residency and fellowship training. Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI decision-support and precision analgesia. Provide anesthesia clinical services. Participate in teaching of house staff, fellows, and students.

Qualifications

Medical degree or equivalent. Board certification in anesthesiology. Minimum five years active research experience as principal investigator with extramural funding track record. Established peer-reviewed publications. Proven excellence in research, teaching, and service consistent with associate or full professor tenure-track appointment. National recognition in anesthesiology-related research. Prior management or leadership experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Total cash compensation range $545,896-$714,043. Signing bonuses, housing loan, or student loan assistance available. Competitive total compensation and benefits package.
