Position Overview

Academic faculty position for a Cardiac Anesthesiologist at the University of Minnesota Department of Anesthesiology. The role involves caring for patients in a quaternary care academic institution with over 1,000 cardiac surgical cases annually, including CABG, valve procedures, aortic surgery, heart transplants, VADs, and lung transplants.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellows, residents, and CRNAs.
• Participate in coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement and repair, combined procedures, and aortic surgery.
• Collaborate on research, quality improvement, and cardiac surgical M&M.
• Provide formal teaching of residents and fellows in and outside the OR.
• Engage in patient blood management, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and technology-enhanced education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME Anesthesiology residency and/or fellowship training program.
• Board eligible or certified in Anesthesiology and Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology with the ABA.
• Pediatric cardiac anesthesiology training preferred.
• Licensed or eligible for Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification in Minnesota.
• Meet credentialing and privileging requirements.
• Ability to work in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits

Total annual compensation ranges from $420,000 to $575,000, inclusive of base pay plus expected incentive pay. Substantial 401K employer contribution.
