Position Overview

This 2-year clinical attending position integrates full-time faculty work in the Anesthesia Department at BIDMC with a fully funded Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education degree from Harvard Medical School. The program starts July 1 and includes protected time for curriculum development, education research, and leadership training.

Schedule and Call

Clinical work averages 20-25 hours per week during academic terms and 100% clinical during program recesses. Faculty take long days once weekly and weekend day shifts 6-12 times per year. No specific case-mix requirements; exposure to broad anesthetic care.

Compensation

Base pay range is $420,000-$440,000. Performance incentives and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and retirement plans with employer contributions are available.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of anesthesiology postgraduate training with board certification
• Full registration on state or national medical register
• USMLE steps completed
• Eligibility for Massachusetts medical license
