Anesthesiologist with $75K Sign-On | Northampton, MA

Position Overview

Board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist position at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Massachusetts, part of Mass General Brigham Community Anesthesiology. Community practice with flexible schedules across six operating rooms, endoscopy locations, and obstetric services.

Compensation & Benefits

Total compensation range $577,000 to $620,000 annually, including base pay and incentive opportunities typically $50k+. One-time $75,000 sign-on bonus. Annual $5,000 professional expense allowance. MGB Cash Balance/pension plan with $15k-$40k+ annual contributions. MGB contributes up to an additional $11,000 to 403(b). 457b deferred compensation available. 10 weeks paid time off and 10 holidays. Significant employer-subsidized medical and dental plans. Schedule & Call Requirements

72 call shifts per year (45 weekday, 9 total weekends). 9 first call and 9 second call shifts per quarter. First call is 24 hours (home/pager with approximately 20-minute return time) plus post-call day off for Monday-Thursday and Sunday shifts. Second call is 24 hours (onsite until approximately 3:30 pm or release, then phone availability with rare callbacks).

Qualifications

MD or DO degree. Completion of accredited anesthesiology residency. Board certified or board eligible through American Board of Anesthesiology. Eligible for Massachusetts medical licensure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to safe, compassionate, high-quality care. Ability to work in multidisciplinary team. New graduates completing residency in 2027 are welcome.
