Anesthesiologist | Newburyport, MA

Position Overview

Full-time Anesthesiologist position at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA. The 120-bed community hospital is located 40 miles north of Boston and handles approximately 9,000 cases annually across orthopedics, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, breast surgery, ENT, healthy outpatient pediatrics, plastic surgery, podiatry, urology, pain management, cardiology, and interventional radiology.

Schedule & Call Requirements

Weekday call consists of three 24-hour in-house shifts per month with post-call day off. Weekend call is one 24-hour in-house shift per month. No beeper call for physicians. CRNAs take backup call from home. 24/7 in-house coverage for over 700 annual deliveries.

Qualifications

Requires a medical degree from an accredited school, Massachusetts medical license, board certification or eligibility in anesthesiology, proficiency with ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, obstetric anesthesia, and routine pediatric anesthesia.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range is $420,000 to $462,000. Eligible for performance-based incentives. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plus retirement plans with employer contributions.

Facility Details

When fully staffed the department includes seven anesthesiologists and eight CRNAs. Covers five operating rooms, four endoscopy suites, and a hospital-based pain center. Affiliated with the larger Beth Israel Lahey Health network.
