Regional Anesthesia Faculty Anesthesiologist | Miami, FL

Position Overview

Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology, Regional (General) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. Full-time faculty role in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise peripheral and neuraxial nerve blocks including interscalene, supraclavicular, infraclavicular, axillary, femoral, adductor canal, sciatic, TAP, rectus sheath, PEC, ESP, and stellate ganglion blocks with catheter placement when indicated.
• Manage acute pain and acute-on-chronic pain patients in inpatient settings.
• Supervise residents and fellows; perform procedures independently when required.
• Participate in teaching, mentoring trainees, departmental conferences, and faculty meetings.
• Take home call 1 week per month including 1 weekend with inpatient rounding and occasional nerve block procedures.

Qualifications

• Completed US-approved residency in Anesthesiology or equivalent training and certification.
• Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management or substantial experience in the area.
• Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology required.
• Research experience is desirable but not required.

Schedule and Call

Home call averaging 1 week per month including 1 weekend. Weekend call includes inpatient rounding and procedures as needed.

Compensation

Compensation depends on years of experience and professorial rank at time of hire.
