Academic General Anesthesiologist | Miami, FL

Position Overview

Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The role involves general anesthesia for orthopedics, GYN, community OB, abdominal cases, general vascular, and kidney transplants. Cardiac cases and small children under 2 years are not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general anesthesia cases independently or while supervising residents, CRNAs, and SRNAs.
• Participate in academic activities including teaching, mentoring trainees, departmental conferences, and faculty meetings.
• Take 3-4 overnight calls per month, with some from home, plus possible evening and weekend calls.

Qualifications

• Completed US-approved residency in Anesthesiology or equivalent training and certification.
• Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology required.
• Comfort supervising trainees and performing own cases when needed.
• Research experience is desirable but not required.

Facility Details

University of Miami Health System and Miller School of Medicine. Academic medical center with teaching responsibilities.

Schedule and Call

Call expected at 3-4 overnight calls per month. Some calls may be from home. Evening and weekend calls may be required.
