Academic General Anesthesiologist | Miami, FL

Position Overview

The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks a general anesthesiologist for a full-time faculty position. The role involves clinical practice across orthopedics, GYN, community OB, abdominal cases, general vascular, and kidney transplants.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise residents, CRNAs, and SRNAs
• Perform cases independently when required
• Participate in teaching, mentoring trainees, and departmental conferences
• Take 3-4 overnight calls per month, with possible evening and weekend calls

Qualifications

• Completed US-approved residency in anesthesiology or equivalent training
• Board eligibility or certification in anesthesiology required
• Research experience is desirable but not required
• Comfort with supervising trainees and performing own cases

Schedule and Call

Call is expected to be 3-4 overnight calls per month. Some calls may be from home. Evening and weekend calls may also be required.

Teaching Opportunities

Teaching and mentoring of trainees is expected as part of the academic role.
