Position Overview

Cardiac anesthesiologist locum tenens position in Poughkeepsie, New York. Specialty focus on cardiac anesthesiology with physician-directed care model.

Schedule and Call Requirements

Day shifts with 16-hour shift duration. Approximately 32 hours per week. Start date January 1, 2027. Duration approximately 47 weeks with ongoing need.

Compensation

Weekly estimated pay $9,640-$10,160. 1099 contract position.

Practice Model

Anesthesia department with 31 operating rooms. Physician-directed care with 1:2 physician-to-CRNA ratio. Technology includes Cerner and iPro.

Requirements

Board certification or fellowship training in anesthesiology or cardiac anesthesiology. TEE certification required. At least 1 year of experience as an anesthesiologist with strong cardiac anesthesia experience. MD or DO from accredited medical school. Completion of approved anesthesiology residency. Current physician license or willingness to obtain New York licensure.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive cardiac anesthesia care. Assist in directing and coordinating anesthesia department activities. Perform pre-anesthesia assessments. Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia. Monitor physiological condition. Collaborate with CRNAs and multidisciplinary teams.
