OB Anesthesiologist Medical Director | Dallas, TX

Position Overview

Medical City Dallas seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Obstetric Anesthesiologist to serve as Medical Director of OB Anesthesia. This combined clinical and administrative leadership position supports a high-acuity maternity program with 5000+ deliveries per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide obstetric anesthesia care including labor analgesia, complex maternal cases, and high-risk OB coverage
• Participate in daytime coverage and overnight call
• Serve as Medical Director collaborating with Obstetrics, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Neonatology, Nursing, and Administration
• Oversee quality initiatives, patient safety protocols, scheduling, and clinical workflow
• Lead the Placenta Accreta program with multidisciplinary planning and simulation
• Contribute to staff development and process improvement

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist
• Strong clinical experience in obstetric anesthesia (minimum 5 years preferred if not fellowship-trained)
• Demonstrated leadership ability and collaborative style
• Preferred: Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology and 5-10 years post-training experience
