Position Overview

This is an open continuous announcement for an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner-Clinical/Psychiatric) position with the Defense Health Agency at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Multiple vacancies may be filled on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full range of advanced practice nursing care duties for patients requiring psychiatric/behavioral health services.
• Evaluate new and existing patients on behavioral health/psychiatric needs.
• Implement mutually agreed upon solutions regarding behavioral health.
• Educate patients about risks and benefits of prescribed medications.
• Observe patients closely, evaluate and record significant behavior and reaction patterns.
• Comply with Joint Commission standards and National Patient Safety goals.
• Maintain records using computerized record keeping and coding system.
• Participate in quality improvement system.

Compensation

Salary range is $160,037 - $208,053 per year. Federal employees in Alaska receive an additional 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance. Salary negotiation may be available for new federal employees. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized for highly qualified candidates.

Schedule

This is an intermittent "as needed" position with no guaranteed weekly hours. It will not lead to a full-time position. Intermittent employees are not eligible for benefits.
