Position Overview

Part-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist position at University of Pittsburgh Physicians, Anesthesiology Department, UPMC Outpatient Center in West Mifflin, PA.

Key Responsibilities

Administer anesthesia and related care including pre-anesthetic preparation, induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia care. Assume accountability for controlled substances per department and hospital policy. Assist with teaching and evaluation of newly hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs. Participate in quality improvement processes.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. Board certified or eligible by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.

Facility Details

Newly constructed outpatient surgery center with four operating rooms and 18 pre-operative and post-operative recovery bays. Cases include general surgery, ENT, urology, plastics, gynecology, ortho, eyes, podiatry, and GI. Pediatric cases for patients over 13 years of age.
