Position Overview

Certified Nurse Anesthetist role at the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas, Texas. The position provides anesthetic services in inpatient and outpatient settings for patients of varying complexities.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia including pre-anesthesia evaluation, induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia care.
• Develop and implement comprehensive anesthesia plans for local, regional, general, and monitored anesthesia.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
• Serve as a resource for staff education and preceptor for trainees.
• Prescribe preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative orders and medications.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range is $209,405 to $292,300 per year. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) up to $200,000. Offers 50 days of paid time off annually, traditional federal pension with 5 years vesting, federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions, and federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options.

Qualifications

Requires U.S. citizenship, English language proficiency, selective service registration for males, background investigation, and a Master of Science in Nursing or doctoral degree from an accredited program. A full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory is required.
