Position Overview

Full-time Cardiac Anesthesiologist role at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA. The position involves independent practice and supervision of 99% of cases at a 204-bed hospital with 6,000 OR cases and approximately 100 cardiac cases annually.

Schedule and Call

Hours are 7a-5p plus on-call shifts. Call is 1:4 with guaranteed post-call day off.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $610,000 with opportunity for incentive bonuses. Sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, CME allowance and time, vacation, paid parental and medical leave are provided. Malpractice coverage, medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan, and tuition reimbursement are included.

Requirements

MD, DO or foreign equivalent. BC/BE in Anesthesiology with completion of a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship or TEE certification. Pennsylvania medical license and federal/state narcotics certificates required.

St. Joseph Medical Center is a 204-bed hospital. Annual volume includes 700+ deliveries at 50% epidural rate and surgeries in orthopedics, OB/GYN, urology, neurosurgery (95% spine), cardiology (TAVR, Watchman, ASD/PFO), and pediatrics.
