Position Overview

Section Chief Anesthesiologist role at the VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, California. This leadership position provides direct oversight of the Anesthesia Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Administrative duties designated by the Chief of Surgery
• Supervision and training of Anesthesia staff, students, residents, and physician extenders
• Provide fair and equitable on-call services during daytime, after-hours, weekends, and holidays
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures align with VA and VISN policies
• Serve on pertinent committees and working groups

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Compensation

Salary range $350,000 - $400,000 per year. Annual performance bonus and regular salary increases. 50-55 days of paid time off per year. Traditional federal pension and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions. Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance. Free liability protection with tail coverage. Possible $1,000 per year CME reimbursement.

Benefits

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) up to $200,000 for eligible participants. No physician employment contract.

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution. U.S. citizenship. Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Board certification preferred for CME reimbursement.
