Critical Care Anesthesiologist Faculty | Minneapolis, MN

Position Overview

Academic faculty position for ABA board-certified/eligible Anesthesiologist/CCM Intensivist at the University of Minnesota Department of Anesthesiology in Minneapolis. Primary focus is high-acuity CTICU rounding including ECMO, complex cardiac surgery, transplants, and mechanical assist devices in a 24/7 in-house model.

Key Responsibilities

• Round in CTICU with night and daytime coverage
• Occasional coverage of SICU and community Med/Surg ICUs
• Provide general anesthesia in care team model when not on ICU service
• Work with residents, fellows, and APPs
• Occasional home call with infrequent callback

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACGME Anesthesiology residency or fellowship
• ABA board eligible or certified
• Minnesota medical licensure and DEA certification
• Ability to obtain credentialing and privileges
• Work authorization in the United States

Facility Details

University of Minnesota Medical Center and affiliated sites in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. Department has over 60 anesthesiologists and a Critical Care Medicine Division of 15+ faculty. Active Anesthesiology/CCM fellowship program. Teaching hospital with 40 residents and 10 fellows.

Compensation & Benefits

Total annual compensation $420,000 to $575,000 including base pay and expected incentive. Substantial 401K employer contribution. Malpractice insurance. CME allowance. Well-being program. Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligible as 501(c)(3).

Schedule & Call Requirements

24/7 in-house ICU model with night and daytime coverage. Occasional home call with infrequent callback. Protected academic time available.
