Position Overview

Locum tenens anesthesiologist position in Eureka, California providing inpatient anesthesia services. The role covers a broad case mix across adult and pediatric patients with opportunities in obstetrical, neurosurgical, thoracic, complex vascular, and complex orthopedic cases.

Schedule and Call Requirements

Weekday shifts range from 8 to 12 hours with 8 guaranteed hours per day. Coverage includes weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call. Night and weekend coverage is required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide anesthesia care for general, spinal, epidural, and regional techniques. Manage ventilation, hemodynamics, and acute volume or blood pressure issues. Place central and arterial lines. Deliver pain management including post-operative epidurals and extremity blocks. Support shared call schedule.

Qualifications

MD or DO with anesthesiology training. Board certified or truly board eligible in anesthesiology. Active medical license and DEA required. Minimum 1 year of anesthesia experience. Strong skills in adult and pediatric general anesthesia plus spinal, epidural, and regional techniques. Experience with obstetrical, neurosurgical, thoracic, vascular, and orthopedic cases required.

Compensation

Estimated weekly pay of $9,980 to $10,520. This is a 1099 contract position.
