Practice Details

Care team model with 25 physicians and over 70 CRNAs. Practice covers two hospitals in the Richmond area with high acuity. Approximately 600 cardiac cases per year. Over 44,000 cases annually across the group. More than 27,000 surgeries performed yearly at the hospital.

Case Mix

General surgery, bariatric, cardiac, ENT, urology, vascular, orthopedic (adult and pediatric), OB, gynecologic, spine neurosurgery, pediatric, and plastic surgery. Cardiac cases include on-and-off pump coronary, valve, robotic, and ventricular assist devices.

Requirements

MD or DO from accredited medical college. Completion of cardiac fellowship. TEE proficiency required. Completion of approved anesthesia residency. Currently licensed as a physician. ECFMG and FLEX accepted.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive anesthesia care. Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent. Develop and discuss anesthetic plans. Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence. Monitor physiological condition and intervene as needed. Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership.
