Position Overview

Anesthesiologist position at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven, Mississippi. The role follows a 2 weeks on, 1 week off schedule.

Schedule & Call Requirements

Schedule is 2 weeks on, 1 week off. This equates to 18 weeks of 7a-5p shifts or 17.5 weeks of call and 17.5 weeks of day shift.

Practice Model

Care team model with approximately 3 anesthesiologists and 15 CRNAs. Collaborative environment with strong relationships among CRNAs, MDs, and surgical teams.

Case Mix

Cases include regional, cardiovascular, EP lab, neurology, orthopedics, obstetrics, general, urology, well peds, pulmonary bronchoscopy, gastroenterology procedures, and interventional radiology.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures. Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent. Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients. Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia. Monitor patient's physiological condition and perform interventions as needed. Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited institution. Completion of anesthesiology residency. Board eligible or board certified. Current medical licensure. ECFMG/FLEX if applicable. Currently licensed as a physician in Mississippi. Board certification or actively board eligible by the American Board of Anesthesia.
