GI Anesthesiologist No Call | Chicago, IL

Position Overview

Established private practice seeks a permanent Anesthesiologist for dedicated outpatient GI anesthesia in the Chicago, IL area. This role focuses exclusively on gastroenterology procedures in a modern ambulatory setting with predictable schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct general anesthesia and MAC/sedation for outpatient GI procedures including EGDs and colonoscopies
• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and airway assessments for 10-12 patients daily
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and oversee PACU recovery
• Maintain compliant EHR documentation
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists and endoscopy teams

Qualifications

• MD or DO from accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Completion of accredited Anesthesiology residency
• Proficiency in outpatient procedural sedation and MAC for GI cases
• Active or eligible Illinois medical license, DEA, and Illinois Controlled Substances license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Monday through Friday daytime hours only
• No call, no nights, no weekends
• Steady volume of 10-12 cases per day
