Position Overview

The Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System seeks a Full-Time Advanced Practice Nurse in Nephrology to join the Specialty Care Service Line. This permanent position focuses on outpatient management of chronic kidney disease and hypertension.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate complex care for patients with kidney diseases
• Perform outpatient evaluations, E-consults, and telehealth visits
• Obtain histories, order labs, and develop management plans with renal physicians
• Provide patient education and conduct goals of care discussions
• Oversee transplant referrals and triage consults
• Occasional inpatient consult support

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Alternative hours negotiable at hire. No telework or virtual options.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range $117,200 - $169,900 per year. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package including federal benefits.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship, English proficiency, selective service registration for males, background investigation, pre-employment physical, and seasonal influenza vaccination required.
