Position Overview

Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) - Chronic Pain Management position at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. The role focuses on providing pain services to veterans in support of the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) as part of the Pain Management Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform consultations including history and physical examinations during in-person, telephone, and virtual encounters
• Provide ongoing outpatient care for assigned patients according to VHA policies and evidence-based guidelines
• Prescribe medications within defined scope of practice
• Order diagnostic studies such as x-rays, lab tests, and ECGs
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families
• Support the Pain Committee and interdisciplinary pain care forums
• Treat pain complaints in complex cases using the VHA Stepped Care Model of Pain

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Work Schedule: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday
• Day shift only with no call requirements

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $119,390 - $173,079 per year
• 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays)

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
