Position Overview

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for the Washington DC VA Medical Center. This is an open continuous announcement with flexible scheduling options.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-anesthesia evaluation and preparation
• Deliver anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence
• Manage post-anesthesia care and peri-anesthetic support
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for patient safety and outcomes
• Serve as preceptor and adjunct faculty for trainees
• Develop evidence-based anesthesia practices
• Prescribe preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative medications

Schedule & Call Requirements

Standard tour is four days per week, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-5:00pm. Flexible shifts including 8, 10, 12, 16, and 24-hour options available. On-call, holidays, and weekends may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $180,195 - $261,224 per year
• 50 days paid time off annually (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays)

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory
• English language proficiency
• Must pass pre-employment physical, background investigation, and drug screening
• Seasonal influenza vaccination required
