Position Overview

Lead as Chief CRNA at the Central Texas VA Health Care System in Temple, Texas. This first-level supervisor role oversees clinical Certified Nurse Anesthetists, collaborating with the Anesthesiology Service Chief on administrative and clinical responsibilities. Provide high-quality anesthesia services in inpatient and outpatient settings for diverse patient complexities.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia including pre-anesthesia evaluation, induction, maintenance, emergence, post-anesthesia care, and emergency response.
• Develop and implement comprehensive anesthesia plans for local, regional, general, and monitored anesthesia inside and outside the OR.
• Serve as a resource for staff education, precept trainees, and act as adjunct clinical faculty.
• Conduct performance reviews, FPPE, OPPE, and peer reviews for nurse anesthesia staff.
• Prescribe preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative medications and orders.
• Foster patient safety, satisfaction, and compliance while exemplifying VA ICARE values.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia from a COA-accredited program.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.
• Proficient in English.
• Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Participate in seasonal influenza vaccination program.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $200,981 - $267,300 per year.
• PTO: 50 days annually (26 days annual leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays).
• Retirement: Federal pension (5-year vesting) + 401K with up to 5% VA match.

Schedule & Call Requirements

• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm.
• No telework or virtual option.
• Day shifts only.
