Position Overview

Join the Veterans Health Administration in Salem, Virginia as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Work under the supervision of the Chief Anesthesiologist and Chief of Surgery, providing comprehensive anesthesia care across all perioperative phases in a VA hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments, order labs/tests, and develop anesthetic plans.
• Perform regional/general anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care, and vascular access (A-lines, central lines, PICC lines).
• Provide services in operating suites and various facility locations.
• Supervise and manage PACU care, recover postoperative patients as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $183,403 - $265,876 per year
• PTO: 50 days annually (26 days annual leave, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays)
• Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5-year vesting) + federal 401K with up to 5% VA contributions

Schedule & Call Requirements

• 8-hour shifts with rotational on-call requirements

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship preferred
• Unrestricted CRNA license
• English proficiency
• Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and influenza vaccination required
• Veterans preference eligible
