Position Overview

Join the Veterans Health Administration in Fargo, ND, as a full-time Anesthesiologist providing comprehensive perioperative care, pain management, and emergency airway support in a VA hospital setting. Responsibilities include preoperative assessments, anesthesia administration, post-anesthesia recovery, consultations, and administrative duties like program planning and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise perioperative anesthetic care per national standards
• Manage pain relief, cardiac/respiratory issues, and emergency airways
• Conduct inpatient/outpatient consultations and respond to patient calls
• Staff ORs as sole provider as needed
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and equipment calibration
• Participate in disaster preparedness and quality improvement
• Provide patient/family education and promote high satisfaction

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO) from accredited LCME/AOA school
• Board certification preferred (full-time CME eligibility)
• Unrestricted US medical license
• US Citizenship (non-citizens rare)
• Proficient in English, pass pre-employment physical/drug screen

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $380,000 - $400,000 per year (base + market pay)
• PTO: 50-55 days/year (26 annual, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays + 5 CME days)
