Position Overview

Staff Anesthesiologist position at Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This is an open continuous announcement for a permanent federal role providing anesthesia care in the operating room, inpatient/outpatient settings, and call rotation. Accountable to the Chief of Anesthesia, with no physician employment contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive anesthesia care for surgery and inpatient/outpatient procedures.
• Participate in call rotation.
• Accept consults from Primary Care and Specialty clinics.
• Document interventions and collaborate with health team.
• Maintain knowledge of professional trends and ensure quality of care.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams for performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) from accredited LCME or AOA school.
• Board certification preferred for full-time CME reimbursement.
• Full and unrestricted U.S. medical license.
• U.S. citizenship (non-citizens in exceptional cases).
• Proficient in English; pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Participate in seasonal influenza vaccination program.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $340,000 - $390,000 per year.
• PTO: 50-55 days per year (26 days annual leave, 13 sick leave, 11 federal holidays, possible 5 days CME absence).
