Position Overview

Join the Miami VA Healthcare System as a full-time Anesthesiologist providing comprehensive anesthesia care to Veterans. This federal position offers a competitive salary range of $350,000 - $400,000 per year, recruitment incentive (sign-on bonus authorized), and Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) up to $200,000 over 1-5 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver general, regional, neuraxial anesthesia, and moderate sedation
• Manage acute and chronic pain (nerve blocks, epidurals, spinals)
• Perform arterial lines, central venous access, pulmonary artery catheters
• Provide emergency airway management (intubation, cricothyrotomy, fiberoptic)
• Offer pre/post-op consultations and emergency anesthesia support
• Supervise medical students, residents, and fellows
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO) from accredited LCME/AOA school
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Anesthesiology (implied by VA standards)
• Full, unrestricted U.S. medical license
• U.S. citizenship preferred; proficient in English
• Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $350,000 - $400,000 annually + performance bonus
• PTO: 50-55 days/year (26 annual, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays + 5 CME days)
