Position Overview

Join the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System as a full-time permanent Physician (Pain Management Anesthesiology) at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda, CA. Report directly to the Chief of Anesthesia Pain Medicine in this federal VA position focused on pain management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assessment, consultation, and preparation of patients for anesthesia, including pre-operative exams.
• Provision of anesthesia for surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
• Perioperative monitoring and management of critically ill patients.
• Diagnosis and treatment of painful syndromes, including chronic pain states.
• Utilization of non-interventional and interventional pain modalities.
• Proficiency in fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures.
• Supervision, teaching, and evaluation of medical and paramedical personnel.
• Conduct research, quality improvement, and administrative involvement.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from accredited institution.
• U.S. Citizenship preferred; proficient in English.
• Board certification implied for full-time CME eligibility.
• Unrestricted license from any U.S. state.
• Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $340,000 - $370,000 per year.
• PTO: 50-55 days (26 annual, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays + 5 CME days).
