Position Overview

Join the Veterans Health Administration as a full-time Anesthesiologist at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN. Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia for surgery and procedures
• Monitor patient responses to anesthetics and agents
• Perform endotracheal intubation, airway management, and invasive procedures (IV, arterial, central lines, regional anesthesia, TEE)
• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and develop anesthetic plans
• Manage induction, maintenance, emergence, and postoperative pain
• Interpret labs, EKGs, blood gases
• Provide resuscitative care and teach/evaluate residents and students
• Document per policy and manage controlled substances

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with on-call on some weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD/DO) from accredited school
• U.S. Citizenship preferred; proficient in English
• Unrestricted medical license
• Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• 2-year trial period
