Position Overview

Join the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) in Tucson, AZ, as a full-time Anesthesiologist providing high-quality care to veterans. This permanent role involves a wide variety of surgeries in a growing VA network affiliated with the University of Arizona. Practice model: 95% CRNA/Resident supervision, 5% own cases. No OB, pediatrics, or Level 1 trauma cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct patient care and supervision in OR, PACU (ECT, cardioversion), GI suite, bronchoscopy, cath lab, IR, and other locations.
• General pool anesthesiologist with experience in varied cases and regional anesthesia preferred.
• Teaching: Eligible for University of Arizona Anesthesiology Department faculty appointment; medical students, residents, and fellows rotate.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from accredited school.
• Board certification preferred (full-time CME requires it).
• AHA BLS/ACLS certified.
• U.S. citizenship preferred; unrestricted U.S. license.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $380,000 - $400,000 per year.
• Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: May be approved for highly qualified candidates.
• EDRP: Up to $200,000 student loan repayment (1-5 years eligibility).
• PTO: 50-55 days/year (26 annual, 13 sick, 11 federal holidays + 5 CME days possible).
